This stunning performance at the 2005 North Sea Jazz Festival in front of some 12,000 people, captures the power and emotion of arguably the finest blues and soul singer to have come out of Britain in over 30 years.

Siegal performs seven of his own songs, drawn from his 2005 “Meat & Potatoes” CD, which MOJO described as “one of the most inventive Blues recordings ever made by a British artist.” His own songs are supplemented by arrangements of the Jimmy Liggins song “I Ain’t Drunk” most popularly associated with Ike Turner; Siegal’s much adapted and personalised medley of the Davis and Junior Kimborough songs “She Got The Devil in Her” and “I Gotta Try You Baby”; and to close the show there’s a turbo-driven take of Willie Cobbs’ “You Don’t Love Me.”

For this show, Siegal’s core rhythm section of Nik Bjerre (drums) and Andy Graham (bass), is supplemented by fast-rising Brit guitar hero, Matt Schofield (who also produced Siegal’s 2005 CD) and Hammond organist, Jonny Henderson.

The concert footage, filmed for broadcast by Holland’s NPS-TV, is supplemented by an interview with Ian, fly-on-the-wall view of rehearsals and a photo gallery.
