THE BAND

Andy Graham - bass

Andy and I have worked together for over 10 years. He's been the constant in various band line-ups. Andy's got great ears, which is fortunate since we rarely rehearse. I usually just throw new songs at the band in soundchecks and we take it from there.

Nikolaj Bjerre - drums

Nick has been with me for a couple of years. He can play the traditional stuff really well, but he also brings quite a modern approach to the groove, which adds a different dynamic and gives us some differentiation to what is often heard on the blues circuit.

On Swagger, Meat & Potatoes and the North Sea Jazz Festival DVD we are joined by:

Matt Schofield - guitar

Matt is a total monster, the best guitarist on this side of the Atlantic by a long way and there's no one, certainly in the UK, who can touch his versatility. My own guitar takes a back seat when Matt plays, which is fine since I enjoy listening to him!

Jonny Henderson - organ

Another prodigious talent, the “legendary” Jonny Henderson! No one in the UK, perhaps not even in Europe, plays quite like Jonny, he has such a great feel for the material. On Meat & Potatoes, Jonny played Booker T's old Hammond C3 organ and leslie, and a vintage Wurlitzer Electric Piano through a 1970 Fender Twin Reverb w/JBL's.
